INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM

Ensuring properly staffed programs for student learning.

  • Checking Easy Connect for absences and fail-to-fills

  • Reassigning teachers and other staff as necessary

  • Supporting non-certified teachers

  • Conducting interviews to hire personnel 

  • Encouraging further qualification of staff 

  • Working closely with Human Resources in this role

  • Providing training and professional development

MONITORING PROGRESS

STUDENT & SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT  â€‹

Using quantitative and qualitative data to make informed-decisions and keep moving forward. 

​

  • Overseeing Math Achievement Action Plan (MAAP)

  • Training and supporting completion of DIBELS 

  • Assisting with yearly Empower screening and selections​

  • Completing end of year progress measures (Empower)

  • Assisting with administration of EQAO and CCAT

  • Revising and discussing progress and term reports

PROVIDING

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT

Ensuring staff have the best skills in their toolbox

​

  • providing professional development (school-based PD)

  • providing Board literacy PD sessions (in-person & virtual)

  • providing coverage for teachers to work together

  • modelling Open Court & kindergarten instruction

  • travelling to support with DIBELS and interventions

  • French, Math, and Leader in Me "lunch & learns"

Keeping staff focused on students and setting good examples.

  • Being visible in the school and on the yard

  • Addressing distractions when working with students

  • Modelling being present with students

  • Reminding of policies to reduce distractions

  • Helping to reduce clutter 

  • Keeping noise levels to healthy levels
